Frequently Asked Questions
Would you like to learn more about our products, their applications, or how we work together? Here you’ll find answers to key questions about our parking solutions.
alftechnik is an independent company based in the Bern region. We design, supply, and implement solutions in the areas of parking technology, garage construction, modular construction, and bicycle and two-wheeler infrastructure—in Switzerland and beyond.
Our areas of focus include parking systems and parking technology, garage construction and modular construction, as well as bicycle shelters, bicycle parking systems, and parking facilities for large bicycle fleets.
Among other things, we offer parking systems (e.g., Multipark, stacking, and sliding systems), garages and parking structures, modular construction solutions, as well as bicycle shelters, simple and covered bike racks, bike lockers, and parking facilities for large fleets.
Yes. Many of our systems are designed on a project-by-project basis. We tailor the dimensions, equipment, and system selection to the building’s specifications, the usage profile, and the budget.
Yes. We work with selected system suppliers and partners, such as KLAUS Multiparking and Falco Urban. This allows us to combine proven products with local planning, project support, and on-site service.
Our clients include municipalities, cities, real estate developers, architectural firms, companies, property management firms, and private property owners—anywhere where parking spaces, garages, or bicycle infrastructure need to be designed and implemented efficiently and professionally.
We begin by assessing your needs and analyzing the structural conditions. This is followed by design studies, a proposal, and detailed construction planning. We coordinate delivery and installation and oversee the project through to commissioning—including service and maintenance solutions upon request.
We handle both smaller projects (e.g., individual bike shelters) and larger facilities with complex parking technology or extensive garage solutions. What matters isn’t the size, but a clean and sustainable solution.
Yes. We support architects, engineers, and planners as early as the preliminary study or competition phase—with system selection, space requirements, cross-sections, floor plans, and technical specifications.
First, check whether the emergency stop button on the control panel is activated (to release it, turn it slightly to the right; the button will pop out). Then reset the system according to the instructions you received during training. Check whether power is present or whether any fuses have blown. If the problem persists, please contact the building maintenance staff or property management.
Please refer to the information in the user manual regarding weight, height, length, and width. These specifications must be strictly adhered to.
Yes. We recommend annual maintenance. For heavily used facilities, we recommend maintenance twice a year. In certain regions (e.g., the Canton of Zurich), maintenance may be required by law.
Yes. We recommend cleaning once a year, ideally at the same time as maintenance. The cleaning is performed by qualified technical staff and is not part of regular building cleaning.
Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. An on-call service is available on weekends. Please leave a message on the answering machine—it is checked regularly and messages are forwarded.
Orders are usually processed through the administration office. When placing an order, it is helpful to provide a photo of the part to be replaced, the facility address, and the parking space number.
Yes. We offer service and maintenance contracts, as well as one-time maintenance and repairs, for parking systems, garage facilities, and select bicycle solutions. This ensures that the system remains safe, reliable, and durable.
Yes. Our systems come with manufacturer warranties as well as project-specific warranty coverage. The exact terms depend on the product and supplier and are specified in the quote.
In many cases, yes. Depending on the condition and type of system, we assess whether a renovation, partial modernization, or replacement makes sense—for example, for older parking systems or garage facilities.
Yes. Remote controls for garage doors we have supplied can be reordered. When placing your order, please indicate whether you would like to program the remote control yourself (e.g., using the user manual or a video tutorial).
Yes. The alftechnik staff can handle the programming. Depending on the amount of work involved, there may be a charge for this service. Remote programming support over the phone is not available.
We offer a hands-on work environment with quick decision-making processes, direct involvement in projects, and a supportive team atmosphere. Personal responsibility and teamwork are at the heart of what we do.
Yes. We support continuing education in technical fields such as hydraulics, electrical engineering (including NIV), general electrical training, language courses, and advanced vocational training programs such as HF or CAS. Depending on the position, we may also support driving school, first aid, or safety courses.
Applications can be submitted by email or through the contact form. If there are currently no suitable positions listed, we also welcome well-written unsolicited applications.
The easiest way to reach us is by phone or through the contact form on our website. For project inquiries, please feel free to include any preliminary plans or details about the situation.
